During this event, students will have the opportunity to:
-Obtain bus information
-Acquire parking passes
-Receive locker information
-Pay school fees, or apply for fee waivers/free and reduced lunch
-Visit the Counseling Department for potential class adjustments. Our counselors have meticulously ensured that students’ class selections were purposeful. Any modifications were to be made in May when schedules were distributed. Changes will only be considered under the following circumstances:
• The student’s schedule is incomplete
• The student has been assigned an elective they did not choose
• IEP or 504 accommodations necessitate a schedule change
• Administrative recommendation
We regret to inform you that schedule changes for the following reasons WILL NOT be accommodated (students have been informed of this policy consistently throughout the 22-23 academic year):
• The student’s desire for a different lunch
• The student’s wish to be placed with a specific friend
• The student’s preference for a different teacher
• The student’s request to switch out of a previously selected elective
• The student’s intention to withdraw from an academic support class
New Student Orientation: This event is designed to help incoming freshmen and transfer students have a smoother transition to Provo High School. During the orientation, students will be introduced to the PHS culture, including learning about our Honor Code, general expectations, and various sports and extracurricular activities. They will also get acquainted with key staff members and school leadership. The event will conclude with a tour of the school.
Back to School Night: This event offers students an opportunity to familiarize themselves with their schedules prior to the start of school on August 16. Teachers will be present in their classrooms, providing a chance for students to meet them.
School pictures will be taken in Gym 3. Students will go down with their English class. Check with your English teacher for the date of your pictures. Students who do not have an English class will need to go down sometime during the day on the 21st or 22nd and get their picture taken.
