October Employees of the Month
Chanté Harrell (Administrative Assistant):
Chanté grew up in Clearwater, Florida. She joined her brothers attending school here in Provo and ended up staying. Prior to the last three years at Provo High, Chanté worked at Sunset View Elementary and 10 years as a stay-at-home mom, while teaching fitness classes on the side in the places she lived, including a Navajo Reservation. Chanté loves the people at Provo High School and how much they care for one another, even beyond the walls of the school. Although she misses the ocean, Utah has grown on her, and when Chanté isn’t at work, she loves to paddleboard, hike, and road-trip with her three boys.
Here are some things colleagues had to say about Chanté:
Chanté is a great professional who makes the school run smooth. She’s willing and able to help with everything – we couldn’t survive without her wonderful work!
Chanté is fiercely dedicated to her job because she believes in the power of education. It is people like her, working behind the scenes, who make everything we do possible.
She has always been helpful, respectful, friendly and kind as I try to figure out my place here at PHS!
She always has a smile on her face and has a great sense of humor. She has a tremendous talent for remembering names! She definitely has a knack for languages.
Deanna Coates (Special Education Facilitator):
Deanna Coates grew up in Mesa, Arizona. She came to Provo to attend BYU and never left. This is Deanna’s first year at Provo High School. Before coming here, she worked at Jordan High School for 20 years and Sunset View Elementary for 5 years. Deanna loves the faculty and students here at Provo High School and has a blast at work. When Deanna isn’t at work, she enjoys sleeping, watching movies, and hanging out at home with her kids.
Here are some things colleagues had to say about Deanna:
Deanna is a powerhouse! She is always quick to respond to the needs of our team and makes sure we have what we need to do our jobs. In addition to her tenacity, her smile and sense of humor are a priceless asset to the PHS Sped team.
Deanna is great to work with. She is very supportive of her teachers, and can be relied on to answer questions and give advice. She’s a pleasure to have around.
The thing I like most about her is her laugh. It brightens my day.
Deanna is amazing! She truly cares for her students and wants the best for them now and in the future. She is knowledgeable in her area and is great to work with!
Thank you Chanté’ and Deanna for your contribution to PHS! We are lucky to have you here!!
