GAP Study Skills Class Grading Procedures
Grading of Standards
The Term Four – Grading Criteria has Changed!
We will be grading GAP classes in the following manner. Each standard’s grades will be based on a 4 to 1 scale to be averaged at the end of the term. The student must be in the class for 30 days and have a 3 or 4 to receive a “P” grade and 0.25 elective credits for the term.
The student’s term grade is composed of passing ALL four two week standards or completing ALL the courses that have been assigned by the student’s counselor.
Standards Grades
4 – met deadline and completed and passed all participation assignments
3 – late submission but completed and passed all participation assignments
2 – completed and passed all participation assignments only
1 – completed nothing for the standard
*In addition to the Participation Assignments, participation also includes working for the first 60 minutes on a PHS-GAP course/s or a BUZZ , Utah Online or North Ridge packets .
SEMESTER FOUR STANDARD DUE DATES
A Day – April 8, April 23, May 3, May 17
B Day – March 29, April 22, May 2, May 18
All Canvas recovery students will need to complete the modules for each course and once they have scored 60% then they can take the assessments for their assigned course(s). If a student receives 60% or higher on the assessment, then the student automatically receives credit for that course. If a student receives lower than 60% on their first attempt on an assessment, then the student must review the modules that they need to review, while taking notes to use on their next assessment. A student may take the final assessment as many times as necessary.
All eSchool courses must be current with their assignments and receiving a passing grade.
The recovery grade does not affect the GPA of the student. The “P” grade is posted on the transcript to indicate that the student has completed the necessary requirements to receive credit for the course. The previous failing grade still appears on your transcript.
All documented accommodations are being provided for the student.
