This week, we feature English Teacher Jessi Theurer. Ms. Theurer went into teaching simply because she thought she’d enjoy it… but she has stayed because she loves it. One reason she loves it is because of the challenges, but also joy, that it brings daily. She also stays because of the potential she sees in her students and for the fact that she can play a small role in helping them reach that potential. Ms. Theurer believes in the power of education and the power it has to help students find their voice and use it effectively. We are privileged to have a teacher like Ms. Theurer here at Provo High!

PHS Admin hopes you all had a marvelous Thanksgiving Break!!! For Motivational Monday this week, we turn to Ms. Ashley Haug who teaches in our Science department. Her quote comes from a poem by Mary Oliver:
Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild & precious life?”

Why I {Counsel} Wednesday
For Deana Edmondson, the magic moment of “I’m going to be a school counselor” happened while she was registering her own child as a new eighth grade student. Counseling seemed like a dream job because of the ability to individually help students. A few years later, she started her master’s degree at Utah State. She says that although the work is harder than she initially expected, she loves helping the students. “As counselors, we help with so many things that there is never a dull moment. But I love striving to make a difference in the world each day. I am so thrilled to be living my dream with an awesome team here at Provo High and helping students find and follow their dreams, too.”
Thank you, Deana, for the work you do!
