Hours of Operation

Provo High School opens its doors each morning at 6:30 a.m. School begins at 7:30 a.m. and concludes at 2:15 p.m. unless a special schedule used for the day (Friday Consultation, early dismissal, etc.). The doors will usually be locked sometime between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m., and will be re-opened later for evening events.

Extracurricular Events

Extracurricular Events run after school and during the evening hours throughout the school year. These events occur primarily in the Auditorium or athletic venues. Rehearsals, athletic contests, etc. could extend into the later evening hours (10:00 p.m. or later) and weekends. Each activity advisor/coach can provide specific information about the time requirements for each activity.

Summer and other times when school is closed. The school is closed to students and parents on holidays, staff-development days, and summer months. Please consult the school/district calendar for specific closure days.

Weather-related closures

Weather-related closures and schedule changes may occur during the school year. Please consult the Provo School District website for latest closure information.

School Goals

Increase student proficiency in Aspire + on the ELA, Math and Science tests by 5% from FY 2024 to FY 2025.

  • Increase WIDA Access percentage of students who met proficiency by 5% from FY 2024 to FY 2025.
  • Increase WIDA Access percentage of students who made growth goals by 5% from FY 2024 to FY 2025.
    • Decrease the percentage of chronic absent students by 10%.

Achieved By:

  • 80% of students meet proficiency on common formative assessments.
  • 80% of students actively engaged in class.

PHS Visitors

All visitors at PHS much sign in with the front office, receive and wear a green visitor sticker, and sign out upon leaving PHS.
