Academic Integrity

At Provo High School, we believe being honest and responsible is an important part of learning. Academic integrity means doing your own work, telling the truth, and respecting the work of others.

What Academic Integrity Means:

  • Doing your own work on tests, assignments, and projects.
  • Not copying or cheating.
  • Giving credit when you use someone else’s ideas or words.
  • Being honest in all schoolwork.

Examples of Cheating or Dishonesty:

  • Copying someone’s homework or test answers.
  • Letting someone copy your work.
  • Using notes, websites, or other help during a test when it’s not allowed.
  • Turning in work you didn’t do yourself (including from the internet or AI).
  • Not giving credit for information or ideas that aren’t yours.

Your Responsibility:

  • Always try your best and do your own work.
  • Ask your teacher if you’re not sure what’s allowed.
  • Be proud of your honest effort.
  • Help make our school a place where everyone is honest and respectful.

What Happens if You Cheat:

  • You may get a zero on the assignment or test.
  • Your parents/guardians may be contacted.
  • You could lose certain school privileges or honors.
  • Repeated dishonesty can lead to more serious consequences.

We’re Here to Help
