Last week, students who took the PSAT in November received their scores and watched a presentation on how to interpret their scores. If you missed this opportunity, please go to the counseling department to receive your scores, then watch this quick, 2-minute video to help you understand your results. If you have further questions, please contact your school counselor; they are here to help!

Presidential Scholar Candidates 2017

Congratulations to PHS seniors Lillian Bartholomew & Melissa Larson, who have been named as candidates in the 2017 United States Presidential Scholars Program.
This program was established in 1964 to recognize some of our nation’s most distinguished graduating seniors for their accomplishments in many areas: academic success, leadership, and service to school and community. In 1979, it was expanded to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional scholarship and talent in the visual, creative, and performing arts. In 2015, the program was expanded once again to recognize students who demonstrate ability and accomplishment in career and technical fields.
Each spring, the Commission on Presidential Scholars names up to 161 distinguished graduating high school seniors as U.S. Presidential Scholars. Being selected as a U.S. Presidential Scholar is one of the highest honors our nation’s high school students may receive.
The students selected as 2017 U.S. Presidential Scholars will receive the Presidential Scholars Medallion at a ceremony sponsored by the White House in Washington, DC (www.ed.gov/psp).
Best wishes, Lillian and Melissa, as you move forward in the selection process!

Normal Schedule for Schools and Buses Today (1/6/17)

Schools and buses will be running on their regular schedules today. We ask that parents please be patient with buses, as individual neighborhoods may have slower road conditions than others. The buses will be there to pick up students, even if they are running a couple of minutes behind schedule.
All Schools – 2 Hour Late Start Today (1/5/17)

Due to extremely icy road conditions throughout the city, it has been decided that all Provo Schools will have a 2 hour late start today. This means that each school will begin 2 hours after it’s normal start time, and buses will pick up students 2 hour after the normal pick up time.
This also means that:
- All morning kindergarten classes and preschool classes will be cancelled for the day.
- All elementary after school programs will be cancelled.
- All secondary after school programs will be determined by each school.
- Due to the late start, breakfast will not be served in the morning.
Parents are once again encouraged to do what they feel is in the best interest of their students. All absences and tardies will be excused. If you choose to keep your child home, please call the school.
