This past weekend, students from the National ART honors society took over the artcetera gallery to teach preschoolers from the Mountainland Headstart program, along with their dads, how to make masks.
Artcetera will host a guest artist lecture this Wednesday, October 30th, at 5:00pm. If you have not checked out the gallery, this would be a great opportunity. The guest artist is Katrina Berg.
Another item of note: Former PHS student Rachel McClosky has a solo exhibition in the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art. The exhibition opens Friday, November 1st, and from 7-9 there will be an opening reception with light refreshments. The UMOCA is located on 20 S. W Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84101, just west of the City Creek Mall and adjacent to Abravanel Hall.
Lastly, the Who is American Today? PHS student digital stories were accepted as part of the ICIDS 2019 Art Exhibit. The International Conference on Interactive Digital Storytelling (ICIDS) is the premier conference for researchers and practitioners concerned with studying digital interactive forms of narrative from a variety of perspectives, including the theoretical, technological, and applied design practices. The annual conference is an interdisciplinary gathering that combines technology-focused approaches with humanities-inspired theoretical inquiry, empirical research and artistic expression.
We are very proud of our art students for their amazing talents and contributions to Provo High and surrounding communities!
