At a faculty meeting held Monday, May 13, Mr. Ryan Rasmussen was presented with the Crystal Apple Award. The Crystal Apple Award recognizes outstanding educators as nominated by their peers. In a tribute given at the meeting, colleague Ty Robinson had this to say about Mr. Rasmussen:
“Ryan is a fantastic teacher. He has taught many students during his 27-year career as an educator. He has served in many capacities in education. He was the high school representative for the Utah Science Teachers’ Association from 2005-2008. He has taught many workshops, including one for PBS about their 8-part evolution series. He has presented numerous times at NSTA, USTA, and NABT conferences about the Galapagos Islands and Charles Darwin. Currently he is a co-leader with the PHS HOSA Club, and he heps with the blood drive and HOSA competitions.
Ryan truly cares about the kids and the classes that he teaches. He is a very dedicated teacher who can frequently be found on Saturdays in his bio-tech lab, preparing agar dishes and more for upcoming labs.”
Thank you, Mr. Rasmussen, for all you do!
