Join the girls’ basketball team on Thursday, January 30th, at 5:00 p.m. for their 3rd annual Fight Against Cancer Night.
Two years ago, our basketball program helped raise over three thousand dollars for the family of a Provo High student who had been diagnosed with cancer. She is now a mainstay at the Fight Against Cancer Night where she plays our national anthem on one of her several instruments. She is now cancer-free!
Last year, we raised money for another Provo High family. The mother of a Provo High freshman was diagnosed with cancer and we were able to raise over four thousand dollars for their family.
This year, we have become aware of a few families who could benefit from our help. One local family has been fighting alongside their mom who is battling this disease. Also, three Provo daughters lost their mom in an auto-pedestrian accident. Our players have decided to try to raise money for both of these families and support them as they go through this tough time.
During the game, the girls play with a pink basketball and they wear pink shoelaces and accessories. Over the past three years, not only is our Fight Against Cancer Night one of the two best attended basketball games of the year, it has been an emotional, stirring evening.
During the game this Thursday against Salem Hills, there will be a silent auction. The last two years, the administration gave a portion of the gate, and the student body donated over one thousand dollars in change during school as well.
Please consider helping us with a donation of goods, services, or a check (payable to Provo High School with GirlsBasketball Fight Against Cancer Night as the subject). Thank you so much for helping these local families.
REMEMBER THAT ALL MONEY RAISED WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THE PROVO FAMILIES MENTIONED ABOVE!
