Course Description
Biology explores the patterns, processes, relationships, and environments of living organisms. Topics of study will include four main units as follows:
Ecology Cells DNA & Genetics Evolution Matter cycles & energy flow, biodiversity, changes in ecosystems Macromolecules, cell structure & function, tissues & organs Heredity, structure & function of DNA, genetic variation, biotechnology Diversity within and among species, natural selection, lines of evidence for evolution
Students will also learn essential science skills, including developing questions, planning investigations, analyzing data, developing models, designing solutions, engaging in arguments from evidence, and communicating information.
