Class: Math
Class Description: Math is a resource class developed to increase students basic math skills. We do this by dividing students into 3 small groups to give more student to teacher instruction. One group is with the teacher in direct instruction of math skills. Group 2 is working on math skills out of a workbook independently. Group 3 will be doing problems on their level on the computer. Each group will work for 20 minutes, minimum, until rotating. The program is successful because it breaks down each individual to their math level and they work forward from that point at a vigorous rate.
Objective Students will increase their math skills one grade level from their baseline on the Math Inventory.
Homework Each student will finish class work in the classroom. But, if they don’t finish their assignments in class they can take it home for homework and bring it back for credit.
Progress Monitoring/Grading Policy Progress on IEP goals will be monitored and documented. You will receive a summary of progress at the end of each term at approximately the same time report cards are disbursed. Grades will be based on punctuality, class participation, appropriate behavior, progress made toward IEP goals, and scores on class assignments.
