Course Description/Overview/Welcome Statement
Class Description: Math A is a resource class developed to increase students basic math skills. We do this by dividing students into small groups to give more student to teacher instruction. Academic and functional life math skills will be taught to help prepare students for real life situations.
Learning Expectations
Objective Students will increase their math skills and make progress on their IEP goals.
Assessment of Progress
Success Criteria will be students achieving 80% on assignments
Course Materials
Math worksheets, computers and Ipads to access online assessments.
Classroom Procedures
Attendance Provo High School’s attendance policy will be in affect unless your student’s IEP indicates otherwise.

Students will have 3 rotations, 1 direct instruction, 2 computer Independent practice and assessment, 3 Functional Math Skills.
Calendar of Due Dates for Major Assignments
August-Baseline assessment
September- SMI will determine where students grade level for math is. The assessment will be given at the end of the year to see student improvement. We will work onDeveloping Number Sense, Making Sense of Rational Numbers, and Understanding Algebraic Expressions.
Reporting Progress
Progress Monitoring/Grading Policy Progress on IEP goals will be monitored and documented. Grades will be based on punctuality, class participation, appropriate behavior, progress made toward IEP goals, and scores on class assignments.
Percent grade 100-94 A 93-90 A- 89-87 B+ 86-83 B 82-80 B- 79-77 C+ 76-73 C 72-70 C- 69-60 D P grade indicates student passed the class but receives no credit towards graduation for the class. I grade indicates the student has a time limit to get work made up for a grade after grades were due.
Grade changes may occur for lower percentages according to each individual IEP goal.
