in our BOS class, we will be using G Suite, i.e. Google Docs in Quarter 1 or 3 and Sheets & Slides in Quarter 2 or 4, which will be compatible with your Chromebook. I have designed the course to transition smoothly among three types of delivery. Your options are:
- BOS Online Only
- Check the weekly schedule each Monday morning
- Work at your own pace as long as you aren’t getting behind the timeline indicated on Monday Canvas Announcements
- Tests in the Testing Center
- COVID Style Phases with BOS Online – Combination of in Person & Remote

- In class time to work on assignments, review study guides for tests.
- In class “first time” tests on designated dates and alternate tests in the Testing Center
- Accelerated BOS, using either of the two previous approaches
- Work ahead of weekly schedule
- Assignments: Mastery Level of “Proficient” or higher
- Earn transition from In Class BOS to In Class Study Hall for Current Quarter Only via the following Requirements Checklist:
- All six assignments for the Quarter at Mastery Level of “Proficient” or higher
- All Quarter Tests completed
- Overall Grade Percentage of: 80% or higher and then
- In Class Study Hall for the remainder of the Quarter

Modified Standard Based Learning/With PHS Traditional Grading Scale
- Assignments with three Resubmit – correcting errors only & no deduction for resubmits
- Tests with one Alternate Test for each section of a test
- Grading:
- Assignment Point Weight – 35%
- Test Point Weight – 65%
- Passing Overall Grade – 60%
- Not Passing by end of Quarter – “I”
There will be two sets of tests during each Quarter. The tests will cover the standards corresponding to the assignments. Tests will be broken down into standards, so that, i.e. if a student’s results indicate three stardards are proficient or distinguished, yet in two standards they are foundational and/or they do not meet standard, assessment retakes can be channeled towards getting the remaining two standards at proficiency or retaking any standard segment once :o improve his/her grade. Assessments and retake assessments are in a controlled environment. Assessments will be in person, which will be in class during the designated test schedule date & time or during the Testing Center Schedule.
