Classes being taught:
AP/CE Biology (Advanced Placement/Concurrent Enrollment): This class is for Juniors and Seniors that have had a strong background or taken the pre-requisites of Biology, Chemistry, and at least SM2 if not SM3. This is a college level course and will count toward UVU Biology 1610 and 1615. Students can also take the AP exam in May to use as entry level Biology classes at other colleges. They must get a 3,4 or 5 to be considered passing by a university.
General Biology: This a core science requirement class for Freshmen or Sophomores. Basic Biological concepts and Science processes will be taught.
Ballroom 1: Beginning level Social Dance (Cha cha, Foxtrot, Waltz, Swing, Polka – 1st semester); Beginning level International Competitive Dance (Samba, Rumba, Waltz, Quickstep – 2nd semester).
Ballroom 2/3: This intermediate and advanced technique class is taught the same class period with a tryout the first day of class to determine which level students will best progress. Pre-requisites include: 2 semesters of PHS Ballroom 1; Tryout placement during Company Tryouts; teacher recommendation from another school or studio; or teacher/director approval.
Ballroom Dance Company: This is an Audition ONLY class. Auditions take place each April. There are two levels of companies: JV and Varsity Companies. This is the Company that represents PHS at all local, State and National competitions. These companies go on performance tours in Fall and Spring. These companies perform at assemblies, games, and other requested venues.
