On January 28th, students submitted portfolios to the official Sterling Scholar website to be judged, and last week semifinalists were announced. Of our 14 scholars, 9 were recognized as semifinalists: Emmanuel Valdez, Starla Eckhardt, Logan Sanford, Margot Porter, Kevin Torgersen, Simon Li, Michael Allen, Rebecca Bishop, and Emily Pace.
Today the semifinalists are being interviewed. Five scholars from each category will move on to the final competition.
Best of luck to our semifinalists, and much thanks to Andrea Betts for overseeing the Sterling Scholar program at PHS and for making sure our students are well-prepared for competition.
