Council Meeting Minutes

Topic: Trustlands Plan and School Improvement Plan

Discussion Summary:

AP Statistics Course:

Reviewed current enrollment numbers and how the course is classified (core vs. elective). Communication regarding course details has been sent to interested students.

New Programs:

Spanish Dual Language Immersion (DLI) is now offered at Provo High School.

Math and Language Instruction:

Discussed current offerings in math, including English and Spanish instruction. Introduction of SM2 Sheltered classes to support diverse learning needs.

Encouraging Student Participation in Accelerated Courses:

Teachers are extending personal invitations to students who are prepared for more advanced classes. Emphasis was placed on improving overall student performance and outcomes.

Support Plan in Place to Improve Scores:

  • Regular monitoring of student progress
  • Additional support through aides or teacher compensation
  • Real-life application through “Dawg Bowl” activities
  • After-school and summer tutoring options
  • Potential use of foundation funds to provide teacher compensation during summer programs

Action Items:

  1. A motion was made and passed to approve the School Improvement Plan.
