PCSD Choral Masterworks Concert
Each year, the choirs from Centennial Middle, Dixon Middle, Provo High, and Timpview High join forces to bring a choral masterwork to life. This year, the choirs will be performing Gabriel Faure’s “Requiem in D minor”. Composed in 1890, this 7 movement work for choir, orchestra, and organ is shortened setting of the Catholic mass for the dead. Faure once said, “My Requiem wasn’t written for anything – for pleasure, if I may call it that!” Its focus on eternal rest and consolation reaches far beyond the setting it was originally written for and touches hearts of all people, regardless of faith or creed.
The concert will be held on Tuesday, March 28 @ 7pm in the Provo High Auditorium. Admission is free, no ticket required. Donations accepted.
PHS Cultural Celebration Split Assembly
Student Government is excited to announce that the assembly this week, Thursday March 23, will be a celebration of some of the cultures here at Provo High. The assembly will be held in the auditorium and we will be on a double-assembly schedule. There will be a different bell schedule on this day and students are reminded since this is in the auditorium, there is no food or drinks allowed and students are asked to not get out of their seats during the assembly. We are very excited about this celebration of all the different cultures represented here at Provo High School.
